Darryl Chambers

Mr. Darryl Chambers, 44, is from the Riverside neighborhood of Wilmington, Delaware. Mr. Chambers was the Lead Research Associate of The Wilmington Street Project. As Lead Research Associate, his responsibilities included assistance with management of the overall research project. Particular duties involved keeping attendance, issuing bi-weekly stipends, developing literature reviews, to data collection and analysis, or making public presentations, for instance. Also, Mr. Chambers has made numerous appearances on local T. V., radio and newsprint related and unrelated to the Wilmington Street PAR project.

Also, since the conclusion of the project Mr. Chambers worked as an Assessor for a community research project organized by the YMCA of Delaware and the Center for Drug and Alcohol Studies at the University of Delaware (UD). Mr. Chambers collected survey data from youth and young adults or local residents on the Wilmington Community Alcohol and Drug Survey 2011.

Presently, Mr. Chambers is a doctoral student in the Criminology Program at the University of Delaware and research assistance for the Center for Drug and Alcohol Studies at UD. Prior to becoming a graduate student, Mr. Chambers worked with at least four other noted professors at UD including working as a research assistant for a federally funded project entitled: The Infant Care Project conducted by social psychologist Mary Dozier.

Mr. Chambers resides in the Eastside neighborhood of Wilmington, Delaware.

Melodie Robinson

Ms. Melodie Robinson, 33, is from the Southbridge neighborhood of Wilmington, Delaware. Ms. Robinson, as a PAR member, was on the Data Collection Sub-Team, effectively lead efforts on-the-ground to systematically collect, clean and organize data for the Wilmington Street PAR project.

Presently, Ms. Robinson is employed and lives in Southbridge. She is the proud mother of four sons. Her interests include: styling hair, being a good mother, and taking part in this positive community centered initiatives.

Ashley Randolph

Ms. Ashley Randolph, 25, is originally from Chester, Pennsylvania to later relocate to Bear, Delaware before as a young adult she lived for years in the Westside neighborhood of Wilmington, Delaware. Ms. Randolph, as a PAR member, was assigned to the Action/Activism Sub-Team. Her responsibilities on this sub-team included organizing arts-based activities as a way to "do activism". Ms. Randolph was instrumental in organizing a well-attended Homicide Arts Exhibit at Christina Cultural Arts Center on behalf of the Wilmington Street PAR project. Ms. Randolph has made numerous appearances on local T. V., radio and in newsprint related and unrelated to the Wilmington Street PAR project.

Ms. Randolph was employed for some time as a Community Impact Technical Associate and Youth Coordinator at the United Way of Delaware. Also, Ms. Randolph worked as an Assessor for a community research project organized by the YMCA of Delaware and the Center for Drug and Alcohol Studies at the University of Delaware. She collected survey data from youth and young adults or local residents on the Wilmington Community Alcohol and Drug Survey 2011.

Presently, she is a Street Outreach Contract Consultant for the Parent Advocacy Campaign organized by the Christina Cultural Art Center. She aspires to complete her Bachelors of Arts. She has attended Delaware Technical Community College as well as Wilmington University.

Ms. Randolph currently resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Tiana Russell

Ms. Tiana Russell, 32, is originally from the Southbridge neighborhood of Wilmington, Delaware. Ms. Russell as a PAR member was on the Literature Review and Data Collection Sub-Teams. Specifically, Ms. Russell assisted with data collection in Southbridge as well as focused most of her efforts on collecting, reading and organizing a literature review on school experiences and school violence. Also, Ms. Russell was featured on November 25, 2010 in The News Journal (Flagship State Newspaper), during a 5 day front page special series on the Wilmington Street PAR project. Also, since the conclusion of the project Ms. Russell worked as an Assessor for a community research project organized by the YMCA of Delaware and the Center for Drug and Alcohol Studies at the University of Delaware. Ms. Russell collected survey data from youth and young adults or local residents on the Wilmington Community Alcohol and Drug Survey 2011. She continues to look for better employment, however.

Ms. Russell is presently enrolled at the University of Phoenix where she is majoring in Human Services. She aspires to work with families struggling with mental illness.

Ms. Russell currently resides in Southbridge and is the proud mother of four children between the ages of 2 and 8.

Kenyatta Brooks

Mr. Brooks, 44, is from New Castle, Delaware and the Northside neighborhood of Wilmington, Delaware. Mr. Brooks as a PAR member was on the Data Collection Sub-Team, and effectively lead efforts on-the-ground to systematically collect, clean and organize data for the Wilmington Street PAR project.
Also, since the conclusion of the project Mr. Brooks worked as an Assessor for a community research project organized by the YMCA of Delaware and the Center for Drug and Alcohol Studies at the University of Delaware. Mr. Brooks collected survey data from youth and young adults or local residents on the Wilmington Community Alcohol and Drug Survey 2011.
Mr. Brooks interest include: basketball, pets, and reducing gun violence after his brother's murder in 2007.

Derrick Chambers

Mr. Derrick Chambers, 40, is from originally the Riverside neighborhood of Wilmington, Delaware. Mr. Chambers, as a PAR member, was on the Data Analysis Sub-Team. This sub-team was responsible for organizing and "cleaning" of the transcripts developed from the project's qualitative interviews.
Also, since the conclusion of the project Mr. Chambers worked as an Assessor for a community research project organized by the YMCA of Delaware and the Center for Drug and Alcohol Studies at the University of Delaware. Mr. Chambers collected survey data from youth and young adults or local residents on the Wilmington Community Alcohol and Drug Survey 2011. He continues to look for better employment and aspires to complete his Bachelors of Arts in Ancient Eastern Studies.
Mr. Chambers is the proud father of four children, ages 16 – 21. Mr. Chambers remains committed to the uplift of the Riverside neighborhood in Wilmington, Delaware.

Kontal Copeland

Mr. Kontal Copeland, 34, is from the Northside neighborhood of Wilmington, Delaware. Mr. Copeland, as a PAR member, was assigned to the Literature Review Sub-Team. His efforts on this sub-team mostly focused on collecting, reading and organizing a literature review analysis on the criminal justice system. Mr. Copeland has made numerous public presentations on behalf of the Wilmington Street PAR project.
Mr. Copeland worked as an Assessor for a community research project organized by the YMCA of Delaware and the Center for Drug and Alcohol Studies at the University of Delaware. Mr. Copeland collected data from youth and young adults or local residents on the Wilmington Community Alcohol and Drug Survey 2011.
Presently, he is a Service Assistant at Christiana Care Hospital as well as the co-owner of an Entertainment/Party and Promotions Company.
Also, Mr. Copeland is the proud father of two children. He currently resides in the Northside of Wilmington, Delaware.

Mr. Bernard Cornish

Mr. Bernard Cornish, 33, is originally from the Northside neighborhood of Wilmington, Delaware. Mr. Cornish, as a PAR member, was assigned to the Action/Activism Sub-Team. This sub-team developed arts-based activities as a way to "do activism". His responsibilities chiefly included organizing a Mix CD for the project. Mr. Cornish identified and organized local artists to develop and submit material for a Mix CD project entitled: The People's Report. Also, Mr. Cornish assisted with organizing a Homicide Art Exhibit in Christina Cultural Arts Center in Wilmington for the larger project as well.
Since the conclusion of the project, he worked as a Research Technician at the University of Delaware for Dr. Mary Dozier's federally funded project entitled: The Infant Care Giver Project. This study was a large-scale, Philadelphia–based research project that examined the effectiveness of a parenting intervention with high-risk neglecting birth parents referred by the Philadelphia Department of Human Services. Also, he worked as a Youth Clinician at The Chris Sturmfels Youth Center—a Wilmington residential detention center for teens between the ages of 12 and 17 not yet convicted of a criminal offense. Mr. Cornish facilitated recreation, residential care, cognitive, and medical needs during their stay at the center. Lastly, he worked as an Assessor for a community research project organized by the YMCA of Delaware and the Center for Drug and Alcohol Studies at the University of Delaware. Mr. Cornish collected data from youth and young adults or local residents on the Wilmington Community Alcohol and Drug Survey 2011.
Presently, Mr. Cornish works as a Teacher Associate/Disciplinarian for Parkway Academy High School in Wilmington, Delaware. Also, he is a book author of, Memoirs of a Persistent Felon, and is an online entrepreneur with his website: aliveandfreeinc.com. He still is a committed local urban music producer and has to date released approximately a dozen Mix-CD projects. Also, he is the proud father of six children, ages ranging between 3-19. He lives with his family in Newark, Delaware.

Patrice Gibbs

Mr. Patrice Gibbs, 52, is from the Westside neighborhood of Wilmington, Delaware. Mr. Gibbs, as a PAR member, was assigned to the Data Analysis Sub-Team. This sub-team was responsible for organizing and "cleaning" of the transcripts developed from the project's qualitative interviews. Ms. Gibbs has made numerous appearances on local T. V., radio and newsprint related and unrelated to the Wilmington Street PAR project.
Mr. Gibbs worked as an Assessor for a community research project organized by the YMCA of Delaware and the Center for Drug and Alcohol Studies at the University of Delaware. Mr. Gibbs collected data from youth and young adults or local residents on the Wilmington Community Alcohol and Drug Survey 2011.
Mr. Gibbs is an active socio-political critic in the Wilmington community. He is the book author of, Organized Unity for Progressive Revolution, and, A Visit with Uncle Richard, both can found at amazon.com. He often publishes opt-editorial articles, contributes his voice and wisdom on local and regional radio, and is an active blogger for his blog at: Progressive Revolutionary
Mr. Gibbs aspires to complete his Bachelors of Arts in History to eventually become a history teacher and scholarly historian. Also, he seeks to continue with his passion for arrangement and production of jazz music as well as the hosting of Jazz segments on local radio.
He currently resides in the Northside of Delaware.

Earvin "Swearve" Griffin

Mr. Earvin "Swearve" Griffin, 24, is originally from the New Castle area of Delaware and particularly frequents the Westside neighborhood of Wilmington, Delaware. Mr. Griffin, as a PAR member, was assigned to the Data Analysis Sub-Team. This sub-team was responsible for organizing and "cleaning" of the transcripts developed from the project's qualitative interviews. Mr. Griffin was featured on November 22, 2010 in The News Journal (Flagship State Newspaper), during a 5 day front page special series on the Wilmington Street PAR project. Mr. Griffin worked as an Assessor for a community research project organized by the YMCA of Delaware and the Center for Drug and Alcohol Studies at the University of Delaware. Mr. Griffin collected data from youth and young adults or local residents on the Wilmington Community Alcohol and Drug Survey 2011.
Presently, he works as a salesman for Sneaker Villa, a local sneaker and urban Hip-Hop store in Wilmington, Delaware. He continues to look for better for employment and aspires to complete his Bachelors of Arts in Child Education and/or Cultural Arts to eventually assist youth caught up in the streets through the arts.
Mr. Griffin, a local rap artist, will continue to make Hip-Hop music. He aspires to become a nationally renowned Hip-Hop artist. Locally, known as Swearv, his recently released Mix CD project is entitled: The Neighborhood Fat Kid. Also, it should be underscored that since the start of the Wilmington Street PAR project, Swearv opened up for accomplished Hip-Hop artists: (1) Wiz Khalifia as well as the (2) Maybach Music Group at the University of Delaware. This performance and scheduling of Swearv was organized by the Center of Black Culture at the UD.
Mr. Griffin currently Lives in New Castle, Delaware.

Dubard McGriff

Mr. McGriff, 29, is from the Northside neighborhood of Wilmington, Delaware. Mr. McGriff, as a PAR member, was assigned to the Action/Activism Sub-Team. This sub-team included organizing arts-based activities as a way to "do activism". Mr. McGriff was instrumental in organizing a well-attended Homicide Arts Exhibit at Christina Cultural Arts Center on behalf of the Wilmington Street PAR project. Mr. McGriff has made numerous appearances on local T. V., radio and newsprint related to the Wilmington Street PAR project.

Louis Price

Mr. Price, 37, is originally from the Eastside neighborhood of Wilmington, Delaware. Mr. Price, as a PAR member, was on the Data Collection Sub-Team, and effectively lead efforts on-the-ground to systematically collect, clean and organize data for the Wilmington Street PAR project. Mr. Price has made numerous appearances on local T. V., radio and newsprint related to the Wilmington Street PAR project. Mr. Price was featured on November 24, 2010 in The News Journal (Flagship State Newspaper), during a 5 day front page special series on the Wilmington Street PAR project. He worked as a Field Research Assistant at the University of Delaware for Dr. Mary Dozier's federally funded project entitled: The SKULL Project. Presently, he is a Service Assistant at Christiana Care Hospital. Also, Mr. Price aspires to be a filmmaker and currently working on his second film script.
Mr. Price is the proud husband and father of 4 four children, ages ranging between 8 months to 15 years of age. He and his family live in the Westside neighborhood of Wilmington, Delaware.

Dennis "Feetz" Watson

Mr. Dennis "Feetz" Watson, 38, is from originally from the Southbridge neighborhood of Wilmington, Delaware. Mr. Watson, as a PAR member, was on the Data Collection Sub-Team, and effectively lead efforts on-the-ground to systematically collect, clean and organize data for the Wilmington Street PAR project. Mr. Watson made an appearance on a widely viewed special organized by reporter Nichelle Polston at WHYY.
Also, since the conclusion of the project Mr. Watson worked as an Assessor for a community research project organized by the YMCA of Delaware and the Center for Drug and Alcohol Studies at the University of Delaware. Mr. Watson collected survey data from youth and young adults or local residents on the Wilmington Community Alcohol and Drug Survey 2011.
Presently, Mr. Watson is enrolled at Delaware Technical Community College where he is majoring in Human Services. He aspires to organize a non-profit organization to work with youth caught up in the streets. Also, he owns the entertainment company, Team Kels Entertainment, where he and his partners manage local artists.
Mr. Watson is the proud father of five daughters ranging between 5 to 20 years of age. He currently resides in Southbridge.

Jonathon Rashied Wilson aka "Run"

Mr. Jonathon Rashied Wilson, 42, is originally from and raised in the Southwest section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and relocated in 2008 to the Westside neighborhood of Wilmington, Delaware. Mr. Wilson, as a PAR member, was on the Data Analysis Sub-Team. This sub-team was responsible for organizing and "cleaning" of the transcripts developed from the project's qualitative interviews. Mr. Wilson has made numerous appearances on local T. V., radio and in newsprint related to the Wilmington Street PAR project.
Further, he opened a locally successful barbershop and salon entitled, Runn's Way, in the Southbridge neighborhood of Wilmington, Delaware. Mr. Wilson began a GED program within the barbershop for young males in the Southbridge community.
Mr. Wilson worked as an Assessor for a community research project organized by the YMCA of Delaware and the Center for Drug and Alcohol Studies at the University of Delaware. He collected survey data from youth and young adults or local residents on the Wilmington Community Alcohol and Drug Survey 2011.
Also, Mr. Wilson graduated in May 2013 with a Master of Science in Administration of Human Services from Wilmington University. He aspires to complete a doctorate in Education with a concentration in Organizational Leadership. Presently, Mr. Wilson is the Coordinator of the Fatherhood Initiative at the Christina Cultural Arts Center in Wilmington, Delaware.
He is the proud father of two daughters, ages 2 to 19 and currently resides in the Edgewater section of Wilmington, Delaware.

Corry Wright

Mr. Wright, 39, is originally from Brooklyn, New York City and later relocated in 2007 to Newark, Delaware. Mr. Wright, as a PAR member, was assigned to the Literature Review, Data Collection and Data Analysis Sub-Teams. Specifically, Mr. Wright assisted with data collection, developed a literature review on prison re-entry as well as organized and conducted data analysis for the Wilmington Street PAR project. Mr. Wright has made numerous appearances on local T. V., radio and in newsprint related to the Wilmington Street PAR project.
Also, since the conclusion of the project, he worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Delaware on several of Dr. Mary Dozier's federally funded projects. Also, Mr. Wright worked as an Assessor for a community research project organized by the YMCA of Delaware and the Center for Drug and Alcohol Studies at the University of Delaware. Mr. Wright collected survey data from youth and young adults or local residents on the Wilmington Community Alcohol and Drug Survey 2011.
In addition, he was a: (1) Youth Director for the Urban Bike Project Inc, of Wilmington/ C.O.R.E Inc. where he organized, promoted, and facilitated youth actives; (2) Youth Counselor for Betha Villa Housing Community Center; (3) Mentor (paid position) for the Goodwill of Delaware; as well as a (4) Youth Ambassador/Social Worker for a local non-profit organization where he mentored youth with homework.
Presently he works as counselor for a federal half-way house in Wilmington, Delaware. He aspires to complete his Bachelors of Arts. Mr. Wright has attended Delaware Technical Community College as well as Wilmington University.
He is the proud father of a daughter and resides in Newark, Delaware.
